This Limited Warranty applies to products manufactured and/or supplied by GST Gear LLC (“GST Gear,” “we,” “us”) and purchased directly from GST Gear or an authorized GST Gear distributor.

1. What Is Covered by This Limited Warranty

GST Gear warrants that, under normal and intended use, the products it supplies will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable warranty period, starting from the date of delivery to the original purchaser.

This warranty applies only to manufacturing defects and does not cover damage resulting from use, installation, or conditions outside GST Gear’s control.

2. Warranty Period

Unless otherwise stated in writing or specified in a project agreement:

• Standard Warranty Period: One (1) year

The standard one-year warranty applies to most GST Gear products, including but not limited to:

• Winches and automation equipment

• Electric chain hoists

• Truss systems and structural components

• Staging and platform systems

• Mechanical and electrical accessories

Certain third-party components (such as motors, drives, encoders, brakes, or control electronics) may be covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty, which will apply in lieu of or in addition to this policy.

Note: Repairs or replacements do not extend or restart the original warranty period.

Extended Warranty Options

GST Gear may offer optional extended warranty coverage for certain products, subject to availability, product type, and project requirements.

Availability

• Extended warranties are not included by default.

• Availability varies by product category, application, duty cycle, and operating environment.

• Extended warranty options must be requested prior to or at the time of purchase and confirmed in writing.

Coverage Period

Unless otherwise stated in writing:

• Standard products carry a one (1) year limited warranty.

• Eligible products may qualify for extended coverage beyond the standard warranty period, typically in increments of one (1) additional year.

The total warranty duration (standard + extended) will be clearly stated in the quotation, sales agreement, or invoice.

Scope of Extended Warranty

An approved extended warranty:

• Extends the time period of coverage only

• Covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use

• Is subject to all terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations of the standard Limited Warranty

Extended warranties do not:

• Expand the scope of coverage

• Cover wear items, consumables, or routine maintenance

• Cover misuse, improper installation, overload, or environmental damage

• Include on-site labor, rigging, commissioning, or travel expenses unless expressly agreed

Eligibility Requirements

To remain eligible for extended warranty coverage, the product must:

• Be installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with GST Gear recommendations

• Operate within rated specifications (load, speed, duty cycle, environment)

• Not be modified or repaired without prior written approval from GST Gear

GST Gear reserves the right to request maintenance records, operating logs, or inspection documentation when evaluating extended warranty claims.

Transferability

• Extended warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original purchaser.

• Extended warranties apply only to the specific product serial number(s) listed in the agreement.

Third-Party Components

For products incorporating third-party components (e.g., motors, drives, encoders, brakes, control electronics):

• Extended warranty coverage may be limited to or governed by the original manufacturer’s warranty terms.

• GST Gear does not extend coverage beyond what is supported by the component manufacturer unless expressly agreed.

How to Purchase an Extended Warranty

To request extended warranty coverage:

• Contact GST Gear sales before order confirmation, or

• Request inclusion of extended warranty options in your quotation

Extended warranty pricing, duration, and scope will be documented in writing and must be accepted prior to shipment.

No Automatic Renewal

Extended warranties:

• Do not renew automatically

• Expire at the end of the agreed coverage period unless otherwise stated in writing​

3. Who Is Covered

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the product and is not transferable to subsequent owners or users unless authorized.

4. What This Warranty Covers

This warranty covers:

• Defects in materials

• Defects in workmanship

• Failures occurring under normal operating conditions and within rated specifications

GST Gear will determine, at its sole discretion, whether a reported issue qualifies as a warranty defect.

5. What This Warranty Does NOT Cover

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

• Normal wear and tear

• Improper installation, commissioning, or operation

• Misuse, abuse, or operation outside rated load, speed, duty cycle, or environmental limits

• Damage caused by accidents, impacts, overloading, or negligence

• Improper storage, handling, transportation, or rigging

• Unauthorized modifications, alterations, or repairs

• Use of non-GST Gear or non-approved replacement parts

• Corrosion, rust, or deterioration due to moisture, chemicals, or environmental exposure

• Damage caused by power supply issues, incorrect wiring, or inadequate grounding

• Cosmetic issues that do not affect functionality

• Shipping damage (covered under separate shipping and carrier claim procedures)

6. Installation, Use & Maintenance Requirements

To remain eligible for warranty coverage, products must be:

• Installed by qualified personnel

• Used strictly within published specifications and intended applications

• Maintained in accordance with reasonable industry practices

Failure to follow proper installation, operation, inspection, or maintenance procedures may void this warranty.

7. Defect vs. Damage

A defect refers to a failure caused by materials or workmanship.
Damage refers to issues caused by handling, use, installation, environment, or external factors.

Examples of non-warranty damage include:

• Overloading or shock loading

• Improper rigging or anchoring

• Use as a structural element outside intended design

• Exposure to unsuitable weather or corrosive environments

• Improper electrical supply or control integration

8. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To initiate a warranty claim, please contact GST Gear promptly after discovering the issue and within the warranty period.

Warranty claims must include:

• Proof of purchase

• Product model and serial number (if applicable)

• Description of the issue

• Photos and/or videos showing the defect

• Installation and operating details

GST Gear may require the product or affected component to be returned for inspection. A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) must be obtained before any return.

Products returned without authorization will be refused.

9. Remedies Under This Warranty

If a warranty claim is approved, GST Gear will, at its sole discretion:

• Repair the defective product or component, or

• Replace the defective product or component, or

• Provide replacement parts with installation instructions

This warranty does not cover:

• Removal or reinstallation labor

• On-site service

• Downtime, loss of use, or project delays

• Consequential or incidental costs

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• GST Gear’s liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the defective product.

• GST Gear shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of use, or project delays.

11. Disclaimer of Other Warranties

This Limited Warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty provided by GST Gear.

All other express or implied warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are disclaimed to the extent permitted by law.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, so certain limitations may not apply to you.

12. Governing Law

This Limited Warranty shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws specified in the applicable sales agreement or invoice, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

13. Changes to This Warranty

GST Gear reserves the right to revise or terminate this Limited Warranty at any time.
Any changes apply only to products purchased after the effective date of the revised warranty.
